Quarterly Market Commentary: Second Quarter 2015

Second Quarter 2015

The Economy:

Over the past few years in the United States, an emerging annual pattern seems to be meager economic growth in the early months, followed by commensurate rebound as the year unfolds. Final readings of first quarter GDP growth showed a 0.2% contraction due to a confluence of factors, including a strengthening dollar negatively affecting net exports and unusually harsh winter weather stifiling activity. The 2nd quarter however, appears to indicate an acceleration back towards a higher growth rate, as was the case in 2014.
